About the Hike

Hike Description

Contact leader via email for reservation. This in-and-out hike follows a pleasant section of the Appalachian Trail. After a somewhat strenuous uphill at the start of this hike, the trail levels off on a ridge that runs along the NC-TN border. We should have nice views. Topos: Sams Gap

Scout Report

Jim and I scouted this hike with David Angelus and Dianne Bienick on this wonderful day. We found the trail in excellent condition and the forest beautiful. We encountered a number of hikers enjoying the day Several were headed up to Big Bald. We took in the view on the two wonderful benches put up there by our trail maintainers.
