About the Hike

Hike Description

Contact hike leader via email for reservation. Limit of 10 hikers. This is a variation of hike 615 and is not SB6K. This hike will meander through Graveyard Fields, a high-elevation valley. We will begin on the Blue Ridge Parkway and hike into the Pisgah Ranger District of PIsgah National Forest. Highlights will include beautiful views and a visit to Upper Falls. The terrain on this shorter hike will likely be wet and rocky.

Scout Report

It's berry picking season at Graveyard Fields. Many of the trails are lined with blueberries and blackberries and we saw many people snacking as they hiked today. Some of the trails have tall foliage on either side, which were buzzing with bumble bees and other pollinators. Overall, trail conditions are a bit tough and hikers should be prepared for rocks, roots, and many rutted out and uneven sections. But the area was busy with people and it will be a beautiful day on the trail.
