About the Hike

Hike Description

Contact leader by email for reservation. Form carpools and meet leader at second meeting place. This hike will begin at the Backcountry Information Center of Standing Indian Campground. We will hike alongside the scenic Nantahala River, then turn uphill along and occasionally crossing Park Creek to Penland Gap. We'll return on the ridgeline on Park Ridge Trail. There are several minor creek crossings on the Park Creek section, one of which may require a shallow step in water if there has been heavy rain.
