Contact leader by email for reservation. This hike in the high country on the Mountains-to-Sea-Trail near Mount Mitchell features great views, rocky climbs, spruce forests and 6320-ft. Blackstock Knob. The hike has difficult downhills, and challenging footwork due to storm damage, but there are wide-open views that are new. If the weather is in our favor, we will first drive to the Mt. Mitchell summit parking and do the steep, paved quarter-mile hike to the observation deck for?360-degree views.
