Contact leader for reservation. Limit of 12 hikers. A moderate in-and-out hike from Sams Gap to the Hogback Ridge Shelter along the A.T., and return via the same route.Topos: Sams Gap

Scout Report

Linda and I scouted the hike on a beautiful day. A CMC trail maintainer was weed eating the grass, which was badly needed. The trail is in good condition, even the day after a hard rain. The area is beginning to recover from the hurricane damage. We had a great day and enjoyed this beautiful section of the AT. The total hike, including a side trip to High Rock and a leisurely lunch at the shelter, took 3 1/2 hours.
