Contact leader via email for reservation. Form carpools and meet leader at the trailhead. Driving directions: I-40 W, US 23 S, US 64 W to Winding Stair Gap. Enjoy this in-and-out hike near Franklin, NC. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average 4-1/2 hours to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, camping and backpacking. We may see a few southbound thru hikers. The trail is blazed and easy to follow. This is deer hunting season; please wear orange.
