About the Hike

Hike Description

Contact hike leader for reservation. Form carpools and meet leader at the second meeting place. This new section of South Carolina?s Palmetto Trail is off Gap Creek Road and is part of the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area. Despite the relatively short distance (three miles roundtrip), it is a steady uphill hike with 800-ft. elevation gain. There will be great views in the winter. The Henry Passage will eventually be part of the Gap Creek Passage of the Palmetto Trail, which will ultimately link to the Saluda Mountains and Middle Saluda Passages at Jones Gap State Park, expanding opportunities for outdoor recreation and regional trail connectivity. This is hunting season; please wear orange.
