About the Hike

Hike Description

Contact the hike leader for reservation. We will do a loop hike using several of the shorter trails off the Black Mountain Trail including Grassy Rd, Thrift Cove and Sycamore Cove. This is hunting season; please wear orange.Topos: Pisgah Forest

Scout Report

We scouted the Sycamore Cove loop hike today, Monday Nov 2. It was an over cast day with perfect temperatures. There was still lots of color and leaves falling as we hiked. The trail is in decent shape with the usual roots along the way. We stared off with a continuous uphill climb. About 700? in 2 miles. There were a few bikers sharing the trail. They were all courteous and friendly.
