This Operations Manual is an attempt to collect, in one place, all the information available on the ongoing operations of the Carolina Mountain Club. It is organized as a series of web files, which will be available on the Club’s website. The policies, procedures, job descriptions, etc. it contains will change as circumstances demand, but those changes should be made with full understanding of past decisions.
The Operating Manual was first developed as of 10/30/17, and it was instigated by then-President Lenny Bernstein. Steve Pierce facilitated the first complete manual, followed by Barbara Morgan for the current version. It is now complete with current information as of January 2019. More information will be added as it becomes available. Our goal is to maintain information under all headings in the Table of Contents shown below and to keep that information up-to-date with an annual review.
CMC’s President will be responsible for ensuring that this manual is kept up-to-date. He/she may delegate that responsibility during the period of his/her term, but the responsibility will revert to each new President as he/she assumes office.
